About us

Progeny Coffee was co-founded by Maria Palacio, a fifth-generation Colombian coffee farmer, and her husband, John Trabelsi, with the mission to transform the coffee industry by uplifting farmers out of poverty. By cutting out middlemen and offering full transparency from bean to cup, Progeny ensures that farmers receive fair compensation for their hard work. Beyond delivering exceptional coffee, the company is dedicated to sustainability, education, and creating a positive impact on both farming communities and coffee lovers.

We believe that passion and attitude are paramount. No prior barista experience? No problem. We provide comprehensive training to equip you with the skills needed. What matters most is your enthusiasm for coffee, dedication to exceptional customer service, and a proactive, innovative mindset.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the café with a focus on quality, hospitality, and efficiency

• Support, coach, and develop a team of baristas, leading with empathy and accountability

• Cultivate a welcoming environment for guests and team members alike

• Uphold and model Progeny’s values in every aspect of the café experience

• Monitor inventory, scheduling, and general operational needs

• Collaborate with leadership to implement new initiatives, improve systems, and share feedback from the floor

• Represent the story behind the coffee—including the farmers who grow it—with authenticity and respect
